Tazumal

There are many tourist attractions in El Salvador; you just have to know where to look. In Santa Ana (one of the 14 departments of El Salvador) you can find ancient ruins. If you go to the city of Chalchuapa you will find a place called Tazumal, which means "place where the victims are buried". Here you will find ruins dating back form 100-1200AD. There are various waterways, tombs and pyramids that have been well preserved. The main attraction in Tazumal is the Toltec style pyramid, which, judging from the meaning of Tazumal, is where people were buried in Mayan sacrifices and rituals. This is definitely the place to go if you're interested in ancient civilizations.

If you're going to El Salvador to enjoy the heat and soak up all the sun you can the coast is the place for you. El Salvador is home to many gorgeous beaches. One of the most popular resorts of the coast is Decameron Salinitas. It is one of the newest resorts having been built only a couple years ago. It has a great beach, and three pools. Cerro Verde

If you're not that into climbing a volcano for hours you can just enjoy seeing them.
