Picture: The colloseum

This picture really shows how big the colloseum is. If you look at the car it's really obvious, since the car is only about 1/3 of the height of the first arch. You can't see it from here but there's a huge line of people waiting to get into the colloseum, and that's on a rainy day. They actually check your bags as you go in, just in case you're going to blow it up? I doubt it. Anyways, the point of this picture is to show just how big it is!

Inside of the colloseum
Location: Colloseum

Picture: Looking down on the inside of the colloseum.

The first thing you need to know about this picture is that wood covered area in the top left is there to show where the floor would've been. All the maze-like area would have been underneath the floor. It was used to hold animals and people who were going to fight. Where I'm standing was where the spectators would be, and if you look closely at the little white dots that represent the other tourists, you can see where some other places to spectate are. There's also a sort of museum inside the outer rim fo the colloseum where you can look at tons of artifacts that were recovered from it.

roman forum
Location: Middle of Rome

Place: Roman Forum

These ruins are what's left of the roman forum. In a spot near the middle there's the spot where Caesar was buried. When we went, there were flowers and stuff on top of it, because it had been the anniversary of when he was stabbed. Or something... Anyways, it's a really cool place, and it's actually right in the middle of Rome, not sort of to the side like most of the places we went. Benito Mussolini actually made a road right through the Forum when he was in power. Half of it's on one side, half of it's on the other.
