Handheld Systems
The seventh generation has only 2 handheld systems. The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) and
the Nintendo DS (NDS).
The PSP is a great system for many reasons. It can play games, movies, and music. It
connects to the Internet wirelessly, to other PSPs in the area (also wirelessly), and
to a PS3 (and again wirelessly). This system is great for road trips where you're sitting
on your but for long periods of time and have nothing to do. You can buy attachments to
power up your PSP to the vehicle so you don't run out of juice. This system has great
graphics for being a handheld system, with many games for all ages.
The NDS is also a great system but with less features sadly. The NDS only allows you to play games on it but Nintendo, in all its creative glory, gave the NDS two screens, one being a touch screen much like a palm pilot. With backwards capability you can play all your favorite / classic GBA games and can entertain people of all ages for hours. Nintendo should have improved the graphics a bit more, and given it a few more features and then it would be a perfect handheld gaming system. The NDS can also link systems with the Wii and other NDSs. This allows you to play multiplayer games without having the actual game inside the NDS. This is achieved by selecting the download play from the menu and being within the NDS's Wi-fi radius. Nintendo should have improved the graphics a bit more, and given it a few more features and then it would be a perfect handheld gaming system.
