Nintendo Wii
Nintendo went in a whole new direction with the Wii, Using old game titles in a new way.
Some great aspects of the Wii are, its new controllers, its dashboard, the free
Internet/Wi-Fi built in, and downloadable content and games from the online market for Wiis.
The Wii uses a style of controllers like none other. The "Wiimote" is a motion censoring
controller that you point at the sensor bar to move a mouse like icon on the menu. In Games,
like first person shooters it would control your scope, or in game like Zelda, it would
control your sword/bow. This makes the Wii a very interactive console. I was disappointed to
find out that the "Wiimote" does not have a rumble feature. Good thing Nintendo added sound
affects to the "Wiimote" to cancel that out. :) Also you can use the NDS as a controller for
the Wii with certain multiplayer games.
The Wii's dashboard has many neat features. You can access the local weather on it, you
can create "Miis" (Wii characters that you can customize to look like you or others and
use to play in some games such as Wii Sports), play downloaded games from the online
market, and use many other applications, which can be downloaded from the market place.
One major bonus for the Wii is its built-in Wi-Fi and its free access to the Internet
market. You can also play games online with friends for free, unlike the Xbox 360, but
content from the market costs "Wii Points" which can be bought from almost any game selling
store.
Sadly Nintendo couldn't keep up with Microsoft and Sony in the graphics department. Also
Nintendo did not add a DVD player to the Wii (big mistake), which some people might think
is a good reason not to buy the Wii.
In my opinion, I think the Wii is mostly a "party system" for its, many fun multiplayer
games, and new innovative game play. The price also is a good reason to buy this system,
it is the cheapest system in the seventh generation.
