Microsoft Xbox 360
Microsoft's new Xbox is now a great, sleek, gaming and media station. With Online game play
and market, new games, better graphics, and its multimedia power. The Xbox 360 fights
for the being the best game system in the seventh generation.
The Xbox 360 has, as of yet, the best online modes of all other gaming systems. "Xbox Live"
offers two different Xbox Live accounts. Silver (which is free) gives you access to the
online market where you can download movie trailers, game demos, game add-ons, arcade games,
wallpapers, and also allows you to chat with online friends, and play some online games.
Gold (costs about $60 per year) gives you access to the marketplace and allows you to play
all the online multiplayer games with friends or strangers. The Xbox Live uses a matchmaking
system to match you with other games of similar skill so your not bothered with "noobs" or
picked on by "pros".
Xbox 360 has the second best "maximum resolution" of the seventh generation but some people say
that they actually use the best they can whereas the PS3 (which has the best) does not. Most
people can't even see a difference between the two because they both use up to 1080p HD
graphics and you need a great TV to show that much.
The Xbox 360 is well known for the multimedia functions it can do. Not only can you watch DVDs
in HD (with an attachment) but you can play music while you play games, or while you watch a
slideshow of pictures (which you can download to your hard drive), watch TV shows, music videos,
or even movie trailers downloaded on to the HHD. The dashboard is customizable, and even the
system itself is customizable. (Customizing the system will void its warranty and I do not
recommend that you do this).
I find that the Xbox 360 is, in my opinion, is the all-round best system of the seventh
generation. But this gaming beast has one Major defect, the infamous "Red Ring of Death". This
is a hardware failure where three flashing red lights appear on the front of the console and
is covered by the warranty.
