One of the most useful things you can do to help your drumming is to watch and listen to other drummers play. Listening to a wide variety of music can help inspire you with new beats and fancy fills that sound great. Watching drumming videos online provides a great inspiration for myself because I can watch their technique and because I can feel their enthusiasm as they play. Below are some links to a few online drumming videos that inspire me in my own drumming.
This first link is a video of Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing along to the song "Charlie" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Chad Smith plays a style that is a blend between powerful rock beats and funk grooves. In the video, Chad does a number of stick tricks while playing, but never drops the beat. I've tried many times to play this song as he plays it in the video, but i have never quite gotten it because of all the changes and fills that Chad plays. The diversity, the hard-hitting and the fun factor in Chad's drumming is what draws me to want to play in a way similar to him.

The second link is to a video of John Bonham from Led Zepplin playing Mobey Dick. John Bonham is amazing, this whole song is pretty much a massive drum solo. Although this video is long, the drumming is excellent. The speed with which he plays triplets is crazy. This movie gives me ideas for drum fills using triplets. John even starts to hit the drums with his hands instead of using sticks! There are three things to get from this video. Fills. Diverse drumming techniques and an excellent drum solo.

This third and final link for now is a video of Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters playing drums with Taylor Hawkins and Earl Hudson. Three drummers all playing together! Dave Grohl is not the drummer from the Foo Fighters, but he was the drummer for a few big rock bands including Nirvana and Queens of the Stone age. Dave Grohl does not play anything super-amazing in this video, but what is inspirational is that that he tought himself how to play the drums, and can still play the drums for very big bands. Dave style on the drums is fairly simple, but is very energetic and effective.
