Drum Kits

Over my 4 years of playing the drums I have played on many drums different drum kits, each one sounding completely different. The kits that I have played on the most are the three that I have had at my house. The first of these kits was a rental kit that I played on for the first year and half of my life as a drummer. After I got rid of my rental kit, I bought a used drum kit from a music store in Vancouver. The third kit that i play at my house does not belong to me, but belongs to a friend of mine who is currently living at my house.

The rental kit that I once had was made by CB Drums. The kit consisted of a set of CB High-Hats, a 16 inch CB Crash Cymbal, a CB snare drum, a CB Bass Drum and three CB toms with a nice green shell to them. The toms included one 10 inch tom, one 12 inch tom and an 16 inch floor tom. This kit was really only good for teaching me how to play some basics on the drums because it was very limited equipment-wise. The kit also sounded horrible no matter how well tuned it was, I am guessing that's why it was a rental.

The second kit, which replaced my rental kit, is a thousand times better than the rental kit. It is currently my drum kit of choice even though it is not set up because my friends kit is up to be fair. My kit is made by Tama. The kit includes a very nice set of K-Custom-Hybrid High-Hats, an 18 inch Zildjian Crash Cymbal, a 21 inch Sabian Ride Cymbal, a 10 inch AA -Sabian Splash Cymbal, a Tama piccolo snare drum , a Tama Bass drum and 4 Tama Toms with a design on them that looks like black paint being splashed on a white background. The toms include one 10 inch tom, one 12 inch tom, one 14 inch tom and a 16 inch floor tom. This kit has a very heavy sound to it, which I really enjoy. The majority of my drumming has been on this kit and I absolutely love it. With it I have been able to expand my abilities as a drummer.

The third kit belongs to a friend of mine who lives at my house. His kit is made by Sonor Drums. This kit sounds pretty good, but is definately not as heavy sounding as mine. The kit shares the same set of K-Custom-Hybrid High-Hats as mine and the same 21 inch Sabian Ride Cymbal. The kit also includes a 16 inch XS Sabian Crash Cymbol, a Sonor bass drum, 3 Sonor Toms and a 14 inch snare drum. The toms are plain white and include a 10 inch tom, a 12 inch tom and a 14 inch tom. This kit is good, but I like my kit better.
