Rodney Mullen is the reason skateboarding is enjoyable nowadays. He has invented most of the street tricks that skaters still do today, including the kickflip, originally called the magic flip, the impossible, the 360 flip, the 360 shove-it, the dark slide, the heel flip, the half-cab and many, many more. Rodney Mullen is now retired from competitions and video parts, but still skates in his free time. He also co-owns the highly popular skateboard company with his good friend Daewon Song.

He never backs down which leads to a lot of winning for this skater. Eric Koston is one of the few pro skateboarders who gets a lot of his reputation by destroying everyone who gets in his way. So if you compete against this man, all I'm saying is don't be surprised if you leave crying.

This man was born to ride, Paul Rodriguez A.K.A. P-Rod is quickly becoming one of skateboarding's biggest stars. Through all his hard work, he has the technical ability and style of a god. Paul Rodriquez is one of the people that influences the way street skating is skated today. A legend in the making, P-Rod turned pro on Girl Skateboards when he won X-Games gold in 2005, and then transferred over to the newly resurrected Plan B team where he continues to inspire many people.

Danny Way is an animal. He is a dare-devil at heart. He has done things that some people can't even imagine. From jumping over the Great Wall of China to jumping off the Hard Rock Hotel, he has done it all in the skater world. He is not afraid to try anything, and because of this he single handily has moved the skate world forward. Just try to keep up with this maniac, it won't be easy. Defiantly not.

What can you say about Tony Hawk? Named the Godfather of skateboarding, Tony Hawk is arguably the best vert skater in the world. Winning his first contest at age 12, and becoming pro at age 14, people had big hopes for this superstar. He is best known for being the first person in history to land the 900 (two and a half rotations, 900 degrees) at the 1999 X Games. This was his highest point of fame. Soon after this he retired from competitions. You know what they say, retire when you're on top. And that's exactly what Tony Hawk did.
