HockeyThis page is all about hockey. There are many different leagues of hockey in this world. There are many leagues in Europe and many in North America. The main league is the National Hockey League (NHL). The NHL has 30 teams 15 are in the eastern conference and 15 are in the western conference. There are 6 Canadian team and 24 American teams. The Canadian teams are the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadians, Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the NHL if you make it to the playoffs then you will have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. You can play hockey on ice or on the cement. To play on the ice you need skates to move on the ice. You also need a hockey stick to pass the puck and also a puck to score in the net. You would also need a helmet just in case you fall on the ice and hit your head. Also some padding incase someone shoots the puck at you. You wouldn't want that puck to hit you without any padding because that would hurt really badly. To play road hockey you don't need as much equipment but you still need a hockey stick but instead of a puck you use a ball because you can't use a real hockey puck on the road. You don't have to use a helmet but you can if you want. Padding is not necessary but if you're the goalie you might want pads. To win a hockey game you need to have the most goals at the end of the game. So if the Vancouver Canucks were playing the Calgary Flames in a game and the Flames scored 3 goals in the game the Canucks would have to either get 4 or more goals to win. In the regular season if the game is tied after the 3rd period then it would go to a five minute overtime period which is next goal wins. If either team doesn't score after the five minutes then it goes to the shootout which is three shooters per team that go one on one against the goalie of the other team. To win you need to have more goals in the shootout. Hockey
