- Call to Order - Tony Goodman
- Meeting called to order at 7:10 pm
- Introduction of attendees
- Agenda and minutes circulated
- Minutes from Jan. general meeting - Tony Goodman
- Moved to accept by Marla Turner and seconded by Lindy England
- Motion was carried
- Principal's Report - Keith McCallion
and Rob House
- New semester started well, good balance overall, wait lists
almost gone
- Students can use PEN (Personal Education Number, provincial
not district) to get provincial exam results on March 10 (3?)
- Newsletter distribution will switch to electronic (PDF) after
the next one (Feb. 17), and be posted in reduced format (no names) on web
site
- Class sizes are large but within guidelines (latest divisor is
26.667)
- Discussion on letter of support from PAC to School
District
- Treasurer's Report - Lindy England
- PAC approved funds have not been flowing very much yet
(athletics and music esp.), need to remind everyone to get their invoices
in
- More funding requests have been received
- Emergency Preparedness
- Math Contests
- New York trip by marketing class
- PAC is paying the rental fees on student photocopier and late
fees have resulted occasionally so switched to EFT for payments
- BC Association for Charitable Gaming (lobby organization for
distribution of gaming funds) has a $50 membership
- Tony moved to get a membership, Jan seconded
- Discussion - Marla indicated that Cedar Hill did not join
- Motion passed (4-2)
- Bingo funds may be lost in 2 years
- Suggested that next year a request for donations to PAC go out
with the fees statements
- Keith will confirm that School District
can issue tax receipts
- May do it under new Mt. Doug Alumni Association if necessary
- Fine Arts report - Keith McCallion
- Victoria Foundation spoke at last meeting
- West Vancouver and McGee trip occurred to view facilities, no students went
- Funding concepts - major one right now is Dance-A-Thon
- Next meeting is Feb. 24
- Emergency Preparedness report - Carla Lewis
- Fire dept. trying to get in touch with us for 1 year
- Under supplied
- Need funding - possibly up to $6000 from PAC
- Trying to get donations of supplies from local businesses
- Kiosk is very small, especially compared to number of students
- VCPAC Report - Tony Goodman
- Web Awareness workshop at Campus View Wednesday March 16 from
7:30 to 8:30 pm
- Crossing Guard general meeting Feb. 16
- President's Report
- Lindy will be doing the RAMPAC web site and helping with Music
Parents site
- Tony will respond to BCCPAC request for feedback
- Next meeting
- March 10 will be used to help at Grad Fashion Show
- April 14, 2005 for next regular meeting
