4. Treasurer's Report Kate Dickson

5. School Report John Fawcett
· Seismic Upgrade: Workers are now installing ring-beam in upstairs classrooms which takes one week per room. Elevator onsite; Anchors being attached at the end of both wings.
· Fine Arts Facility: Began project about 4 years ago. Community organized to start approaching funders as no public funds available. Consultant hired to help with plan. About $2 million expected to be needed for flexible auditorium/performance space/theatre with seating for 300. Will be a shared community space. Lorraine Love works with an architect, so may have useful contacts/information.
· Healthy Schools/Vending machines and Rambucks. Revenue has dropped more than expected; about 85 to 90% less income each month. Used to be $1000-1200 per month; not $118 per month. Revenue has funded student support in the past. Administration may need to ask PAC for support to fund students with academics, athletics and arts. Ministry of Health/Ministry of Education website has list of acceptable "Healthy" foods.
7. Bingo Report Gail Pohl
Gail contacted the Bingo establishment. No AGM needs to be attended. Every 3 years need Bingo licence.
8. Communication Report Debbie Ibaraki
PAC Bulletin Board is "Under Construction".

The following names were nominated and acclaimed for vacant positions:

· Photocopier - Maintenance discussion and arrangements were tabled.
· Dr. Shelley Martin (former student) - Should honour bursary contribution of $50 previously carried.
· Phil Ferreira emailed a motion approved by the staff committee: "That for the 2008/2009 school year district 61 provide Mount Douglas Secondary additional administrative time for the purposes of managing the Seismic Upgrade Project." Asking for PAC support to take forward to management at the district level. After discussion, the PAC members present felt that we were thankful to be informed, but did not have enough information to make an informed decision.
